edioma's mission is to empower Spanish-speaking mobile phone users to better communicate in a variety of real-world English language settings. edioma accomplishes this by developing affordable, easily accessible, bilingual mobile education products, designed to appeal to Hispanics both in the US and throughout Latin America.
Market
As the fastest growing US demographic (44MM now, growing 2.1MM per year), Hispanics often lack access to traditional Internet and institutional English language education. For many Hispanics, the mobile phone is their primary access to the Internet. Hispanic subscribers are avid consumers of mobile content (3x greater) and more receptive (+50%) to mobile advertising than non-Hispanics cell phone users.
Products
edioma has developed and recently launched a suite of educational games and language instruction products that target US Hispanic subscribers. The Company's first product, edigo, provides context-specific (on the job-site, cleaning house, etc.) lessons designed to give native Spanish speakers a functional understanding of key everyday life English phrases. edioma's second product, egoal, is an interactive soccer game geared to young Hispanics who want to test their knowledge of English in a fun, engaging mobile game setting.
edioma's mobile solutions are unique in the capabilities they bring to market. Although a variety of companies offer language instruction services (e.g., Berlitz, Rosetta Stone) and mobile game development (EA Games, Microsoft), there is NO direct competition for the Company's bilingual educational products. edioma has already filed provisional patents to protect both its product coding and future mobile advertising delivery methods.
Business Model
edioma delivers mobile telephony services to non-English speaking cellular customers on a paid subscription basis or as individual for-pay downloads. The Company also provides its mobile edutainment products to consumers via sponsorships from major consumer product manufacturers. edioma mobile titles will be available for download in Q2 2008 from all major Tier-1 carriers targeting the Hispanic subscriber market.
edioma is headquartered in Austin, Texas. For more information on edioma, please call +1.512.851.1500 or email info@edioma.com.
